Reduce sun tan & pigmentation with a DIY papaya honey yoghurt facemask

HOW PAPAYA WORKS ITS MAGIC :Being a good source of Vitamin A and Papain, Papaya-the fruit of the angels as it was rightly called by Columbus  helps in removing dead skin cells while breaking down the inactive proteinsPapain exfoliates by breaking down surface dead skin cells and makes  it easier to remove them,revealing fresh skin&the moisture  underneath and reducing dryness as well. The papain also helps to break down the skin on top of the blemish,hence it is also used to treat pigmentation and blackheads by removing any blockage and helping to break down the dead cells inside the pore.When you remove dead tissue during exfoliation,you make your pores seem smaller as the keratinized skin around the edges of your pores is removed and makes them less visible.
Even the daily  application of mashed  ripe papaya pulp mixed with aloevera pulp on spots &blemishes  can help in removing the dark spots.
Lemon n Honey also helps in  reducing  Hyperpigmentation and suntan drastically.
The papaya honey yoghurt face mask when used weekly will reduce suntan, pigmentation and even  out the skin tone giving you a  glowing complexion.


  • 1/2 cup  of  mashed ripe papaya pulp
  • 1 tsp of lemon juice
  • 1 tsp of honey
  • 1/4 cup of yogurt


  • Blend  all the above ingredients well to avoid any lumps .Then apply a very thick layer on the face for 20 minutes. Wash off with warm water & pat dry.This mask not only  brightens the skin, but it also helps reduce dark spots, pigmentation and acne.
    Do remember to use this facemask in the evening or at night as lemon is photo sensitive when exposed to sunlight.

3 minute Chocolate cup cake..yummmyyy!!

5 minute Chocolate cake

A  5 minute chocolate fudge cake that can be made even by kids!!Here’s how……….
1 big coffee mug

–           4 tbsp All Purpose Flour (Maida)

–           5 tbsp powdered sugar

–           2 tbsp cocoa powder

–           3 tbsp milk

–           3 tbsp oil

–           1 tsp vanilla essence

–           1 egg

–    1/4 tsp of baking powder

–   chopped nuts, chocolate sauce for decoration


1. In the coffee mug, add the maida, sugar, cocoa powder,baking powder  and mix well so that no lumps are formed. This is dry mixing.20140202_122132

2. Now add milk, oil, vanilla essence. Whip   an egg well and add to the mix.

3. Mix everything nicely with a spoon so that no lumps get settled at the bottom of the mug.

4. Put the microwave on high heat and cook the mug with the mix for exactly 3 mins. Mind it exactly 3 mins. Try it with your microwave, if it gets too high then reduce the time to 2 mins and 50 secs. Do not worry it will not spill (as long as it is a big mug that you have used) and it will be cooked.

5. Let it stand for 30 sec in the microwave while it is switched off.

6. Take it out on a plate and


decorate it with your choice of choco chips,chocolate sauce and chopped nuts

7. It tastes a little different than a regular cake but it is the quickest way to make cake with icecream or chocolate sauce.
