Cinnamon magically reduces acne and fine lines

Cinnamon is one of the most delicious spices found on the earth. It is not only used in baking but is also helpful in medicinal and beauty treatments.

Cinnamon magically reduces acne and fine lines

Cinnamon helps in treating acne by increasing circulation to the affected area. The antibacterial properties of the spice also help eliminate the bacteria that cause acne.

All you need to do is use a simple cinnamon face mask. Mix three tablespoons of honey with a teaspoon of cinnamon. Whip the mixture into a thick paste and apply to your face. While the cinnamon fights the harmful bacteria, the honey reduces the redness and restores your skin’s moisture.

Leave this mask on for about 10 minutes (or until it starts to burn) and wash your face with cool water. Pat dry.

Cinnamon improves blood circulation and increases blood flow to the skin’s outer surface, causing minor plumping of the skin. You can use this property to get rid of the fine lines. Try mixing three drops of cinnamon essential oil with a couple of tablespoons of petroleum jelly and applying to your face –it can help reduce fine lines naturally &give a glow.

And what else? Cinnamon can help you get plump lips too! Adding a little Vaseline to your lips and patting a pinch of cinnamon on top can work wonders. Just rub the mixture on for a few seconds and allow it to sit for a minute. You might experience a tingling sensation. Add another coat of Vaseline, and you are good to go.

Air travel tips

  • Even if it is a short flight we end up with visibly dull dry skin-drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated.
  • When you take a long flight, take off the makeup as soon as you start the journey. Carry wet type makeup removing wipes.
  • You can spritz mist sprays like rose water all over the face. This will hydrate the skin and form a protective barrier against the dry air in the cabin.
  • Avoid alcoholic beverages on the flight
  • Carry a small moisturizer(30 ml) with you and reapply on the flight.
  • For Haircare: Apply a small drop of your favorite hair oil in the palm of your hand and apply to the midshafts and ends. The air in planes is extremely dry and hair oil will provide moisture throughout the flight.

  1. When traveling to dry climates.

  • If you are traveling to any dry areas like Rajasthan, Dubai, Abu Dhabi or even Egypt – your skin and hair need utmost attention.
  • Traveling here can affect the skin and hair due to factors like humidity, dryness in the air, harsh Sunlight in these regions.

– You might be tempted to take bath in hot water but you should use lukewarm water. Hot water dries the skin and strips natural oils from the surface of the skin.

– For winter skin care, add a rich hydrating serum before applying the moisturizer or night cream.

– Use lip balm rich in oils and moisturizing eye cream for the under eye region.

– Apply aloe vera gel several times a day for 24 hours moisturizing.

– Make sure you pack a small bottle of your preferred dry shampoo for hair care, which smoothens your hair.

Green Tea to freshen up your breath and lighten up your teeth

Have you ever experienced that disgusting smell sometimes when someone speaks to you?

I felt it today morning when I met one of my friends and they wished me “Good Morning”.

Seriously, it was a bad Morning…imagine what if you had bad breath & didn’t even know it or know what to do about it?

Green tea is the solution to this irritating problem. Green tea freshens up our breath and also helps in lightening the teeth.

  • Certain components in green tea destroy the cell membranes of the plaque bacteria which are also responsible for bad breath.
  • Bad breath is caused by the same bacteria that also causes dental decay so your teeth will thank you as much as your friends. Green tea contains odor-neutralizing compounds called catechins, which act on mouth odor the same way antiperspirants do on body odor.
  • For maximum effect, soak two green tea bags in warm water for five minutes, then gargle the tea around your mouth for 30 seconds.

Just Feel the freshness now !!

Homemade Scrub for Removing Dead Skin Cells

Homemade Scrub for Removing Dead Skin Cells

It’s a universal fact that with age, the natural skin replacement cycle slows down where we experience aging of the skin. This is nothing but the accumulation of dead cells on the topmost skin layer. We cannot hold back aging, but lately, we can see even the young generation having concerns about their skin appearing dull and lifeless, full of blemishes and fine lines.

I am sure you all have tried all the possible remedies available in the cosmetic shops. But, is it effective? According to a  survey, it has been found that even the most expensive anti-aging synthetic skin care products with AHA’s have huge side effects and in the long run, they will actually make the skin duller and age faster.

Let’s take a break from chemical solutions and switch to herbal tricks instead! I assure you, you won’t have any side effects. All you need to sneak into your kitchen and put in a little bit of effort.

As we know, our body follows a certain cycle where old cells are replaced by new cells all the time. This process helps in keeping the skin healthier, smoother and radiant during our lifespan.

You can make a homemade scrub for removing dead cells and freshening up the skin. Being herbal, the natural elements of the scrub penetrate more deeply into the skin and improve blood circulation. As a result, new skin production is stimulated and it replaces the old dead skin.
Trust me! These herbal scrubs can do wonders for your skin.

In the list of good exfoliators, coffee holds a place of its own. Crushed coffee grounds eliminate dead skin cells and promote the production of new skin cells. In the meanwhile, the flavonol present in coffee stimulates circulation, helps improve the skin texture, repairs damaged skin and makes your skin glow.

Orange Peel Scrub:

Even the peel of orange can contribute a lot in maintaining the health of your skin. Instead of throwing the orange peel, just dry it in direct sunlight and then grind it into a fine powder. Use the powder to scrub the dead cells out of your skin.

Use of Aloe Vera in Ayurveda

Aloe VeraAloe Vera – one of the most important herbs utilized in the age-old ayurvedic medication system. The medicinal aspects of Aloe Vera were introduced centuries ago to mankind by Indians, Chinese, Greeks and Romans.

Aloe Vera is called as “ghrita kumara” in Sanskrit. The herb contains a transparent gel full of 96% water and 4% of almost 75 other elements like Vitamins A, B, C, and E, calcium, amino acids, enzymes, etc.

Aloe Vera Benefits for Skin

Use of Aloe Vera in Ayurveda

Aloe Vera is mainly used to soothe many skin ailments such as mild cuts, insect stings, bruises and eczema. The antibacterial and antifungal properties of Aloe Vera act on the injured area immediately thereby speeding up the healing process. Additionally, aloe vera gel also stimulates fibroblasts, the skin cells which are responsible for healing the wound. It is a natural anti-ageing wonder as it also manufactures collagen, the protein that controls the skin’s ageing process. It helps the pores of the skin to open up and receive all the nutrients and moisture from the Aloe Vera gel applied thus rendering it very effective for solving skin problems. Aloe Vera is also a natural sunscreen and is commonly used to protect your skin from sunburn. It can also be mixed with turmeric and honey which is then applied on the face overnight to treat pimples and acne problems.

Aloe Vera is easily available for external application in gel form and as juice for internal consumption to treat acidity, diabetes etc.

Aloe Vera Benefits for Hair

The magical Aloe Vera plant not only helps sort out skin problems but also works wonders on hair. Being a natural humectant and moisturiser, it smoothens and softens hair gently while also making it stronger and reducing hair fall by providing valuable nourishment straight to the roots. Use of Aloe Vera during a hair wash restores the Ph balance of the hair thereby making it healthy and strong. It can be mixed with various other natural hair fall remedies due to its easy blending nature.
This amazing spongy water packed plant has the ability to destroy scalp germs, remove dandruff, reduce itching of the scalp, add nourishment to the hair root, and ultimately give you long, thick, smooth and silky hair.
